QUOTES TO PONDER

“GOOD MANNERS WILL OPEN DOORS THAT THE BEST EDUCATION CANNOT”

                                                                                          CLARENCE THOMAS

Doesn’t matter how many degreed letters you have behind your name that is no excuse for bad manners or rudeness. I have heard and read that colleges and employers are going online to check a potential prospect. From what I am hearing, Face Book is not always your friend!

I have learned from experience that sometimes remaining quiet, when wronged, can at times speak volumes. Remaining quiet can give one the “upper hand”.  It actually can unnerve the other person. Remaining quiet is a challenge for me! My Mexican/Italian genes fight to get out of my mouth when I feel “backed up against a wall”.  When I walk away with not having spouted venom back at someone, I walk away being the smarter one. “He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from trouble.”…. Proverb 21:23

We need to be conscious of how we interact with our fellow man. You may have seen the sign, “ Lord, keep Your arm around my shoulder and Your hand over my mouth!” I have had to say that plenty of times! I have learned that we have the choice to “set the tone.” Just as I do not like being yelled at or talked down to I should not do it to another, keeping in mind The Golden Rule “…Treat others the way you would have them treat you.”……Matthew 7:12.

It all comes down to the choices we make. Want fairness…..be fair; want respect…..give respect; want love…..give love. Whatever you want, you give. Being realistic, not everyone will care that you are trying to live your life to give goodness to the world, but don’t let it stop you from what you feel is the right thing to do.  Who knows what door it may open for you!

“Even a fool, if he keeps silent, is considered wise;

   if he closes his lips, intelligent.”……Proverb 17:28
