QUOTES TO PONDER

by Diana Marie Winkler on June 19, 2016

“SOMETIMES WE ARE MADE TO WAIT BECAUSE
WE ARE NOT YET ADEQUATELY PREPARED TO
RECEIVE WHAT GOD WANTS TO GIVE US.”
                                  FATHER ROBERT BARRON
                                  BISHOP OF LOS ANGELES

Boy, can I relate to this quote! I don’t know how many times I felt
God was dragging His feet with a response I was waiting on. I would
even yell up to the Heavens, “Excuse me, Lord, did You remember I
am down here?! He’s still working with me on my “spunk”!
Looking back, I am not ashamed to say I am glad He did not give in
to my whining. There’s a saying, “God doesn’t call the qualified, He
qualifies the called.”
There have been different times I felt I was ready to do this or that
for the Lord. Later when it didn’t come to pass and after picking
up my lower lip from the floor I could see I had more to learn and study.
I also had to ask myself , “Did I want this for me or for the Lord.?”
There is nothing wrong being “on fire” for the Lord. He will take that
and use it. What we need to understand is to let the Lord decide how
it will fit into His Plan.
“Good is the Lord to one who waits for him.
to the soul that seeks him.”
                                             Lamentations 3:25
Perhaps we want to do things for Him on a grand scale, but the Lord asks us to to do it on a smaller scale or even one on one. He knows what
we can handle and even our stress levels. Sometimes a plan may look good
“on paper” or even in our minds, but faced with the reality of it may
overwhelm us. He works with each of us individually. Learn to be content
with what He does give to us for His Kingdom. It takes a number of apples
to make an apple pie, but starting off they are each an individual apple…
everyone counts!
He wants us to do whatever is asked of us with joy and love. Place your
life in His Hands and wait on His Timing.
